Website Design Process

To better understand the process of creating a website, we have attempted to outline the necessary steps to ensure you get what you want (too good to be true huh!)

1. First Meeting
The objective of the first meeting is to establish a working relationship between us and the client, in doing so we will provide a better service (i.e we only deal with nice people).  The following information will be discussed:

  • Listen to clients expectations of what they want from the website
  • Understand the 'size' of the website, and the content
  • Review previous website designs and competitors designs as a benchmark
  • Review design costs, and agree on package price
  • Establish the clients deliverables (text/translations/pictures/logos etc)
  • Establish our deliverables
  • Get client to start thinking of an appropriate domain name

2. Design Proposals and Review
Our next task is to use the above information to create 2-3 design proposals which we will review with the client, where one design is chosen or the client requests changes (either modify one of the existing designs or go 'back to the drawing board'.

Recieve list of domain name proposals from client and register first available name.

3. Design Sign-Off (if not already done in step 2)
Sign-off on design proposal, receive information from client (text/translation/photographs/logo etc)

4. Website Development
Create website for client upload to development site for client to review, update site based on clients feedback and upload to their domain name.

5. Submit site to search engines
Included in the package price is the submission of your site to 4 free search engines (typically DMOZ, Yahoo, Lycos and Altavista).  Please note that there are no guarantees that your website will appear on the first pages of the search engine list (don't trust anyone who says that they can, just think of the thousands of other sites out there fighting for pole position, especially if you site is related to such things as hotels).  The more unique your product the fewer competitors you will have and therefore have a better chance of being included in the top 10 search results.  When we write the code for your page we work hard to include key words that people will search for to try and find your site.

6. Receive payment in full.
Thanks!

The process is by no means fixed, but following it as a guideline should ensure clear communications between us and the client, saving time, cost and frustration %#@!!!&
